• focus on fluency & phonemic awareness first followed by comprehension
Writing:
• use phonetic spelling method "kid spelling" (listening to letter sounds and letter relationships within words)
Spelling:
• recognize initial and final consonant sounds, short vowel sounds, and digraphs and blends
Math:
• develop number sense and recognize basic math facts (addition and subtraction)
Gross and Fine Motor Skill Goals
• encourage active play
• present hands-on activities that develop fine motor skills & hand-eye coordination
